When I was going into the seventh grade (so many moons ago), I remember my mom taking me to get clothes for the upcoming school year. She was taken aback that everything I selected had black in it, black and white, black and pink, black and red, but she decided that I would outgrow it. And, to be clear, this wasn’t like a “goth” stage because that hadn’t even been established as a style during this time, nor was it the “thing” to wear so much black. I just liked it. Black is neutral; black is strong; black is dynamic. A touch of black can have a dramatic impact in interior spaces.
